…out first thing this morning abating unwanted tagging on neighborhood property. I don’t understand why someone would go to the effort, and frankly, take the risk of tagging without producing something of valve. I understand the graffiti artists that spray amazing images to draw attention to blighted areas, make a strong social statement or even just to show off their work, but scribbling out some lines of paint-REALLY?
There is the question of personal property and vandalism-i understand-but there are some amazing artists out there doing really beautiful work that could “hang” their creations in a lot of places legally if they would just ask-but tagging? what’s that all about?
Some people say it’s gangs, young kids with nothing to do, kids from surrounding neighborhoods wanting to scare old people and some say it is just thugs out to do no good. I don’t know who it is and unless they are caught-no one else does either. All I know is they are seriously in need of some creative skills. I mean, does anyone understand what the message is?
I don’t care if they are troubled youth, kids with nothing better to do or just plain lost souls-their message is being lost.
I think these little thugs should be caught and sentenced to 10 weeks of art classes at CHWC! lol
